2:17

2:18

Speaker B

That makes it everywhere.

2:19

Speaker C

Can you believe it?

2:19

Speaker G

I'm sure

2:20

Speaker G

I'm True.

2:20

Speaker H

right That's here.

2:20

Speaker G

true.

2:21

Speaker G

Yeah, right.

2:21

Speaker B

To be honest, he was creeping around downstairs scoping

2:24

Speaker G

That's

2:24

Speaker B

the place

2:24

Speaker G

right.

2:24

Speaker B

out. I think he

2:25

Speaker G

Yeah.

2:25

Speaker B

was about to bail out, but I saw him.

2:26

Speaker G

No, no. I mean, I've been parking outside this place for weeks waiting for the invite.

2:30

Speaker H

Yeah.

2:30

Speaker G

So glad to be here. Yeah,

2:31

Speaker B

That's

2:32

Speaker G

yeah,

2:32

Speaker B

awesome.

2:32

Speaker G

you're welcome. Yeah. We saw you and we picked up on the hint. So it's good that you

2:36

Speaker B

We

2:36

Speaker G

came.

2:37

Speaker B

got the letters.

2:38

Speaker G

Yeah, that's stuck in your podcasting.

2:41

Speaker G

Well,

2:42

Speaker G

all right. So those of us out there who don't know who you are, let's start.

2:46

Speaker G

start there.

2:48

Speaker G

Who are you?

2:50

Speaker C

Mm-hmm.

2:50

Speaker G

Who are you?

2:51

Speaker C

And what is Orbit?

2:52

Speaker G

And what is Orbit?

2:53

Speaker G

Uh, it's pretty straightforward.

2:56

Speaker G

I'm uh I grew up in the suburbs. I met a friend in high school,

3:00

Speaker G

Barrett Lombardo.

3:01

Speaker B

Barrett and I were pretty much uh huge goofballs through high school and college, went to college together, and um

3:06

Speaker G

What kind of goofballs?

3:08

Speaker B

slackers,

3:09

Speaker A

Ah yeah.

3:09

Speaker B

uh kind of low level criminals,

3:11

Speaker A

Ooh.

3:11

Speaker B

um just just trouble.

3:13

Speaker G

Yeah, let's go back

3:14

Speaker B

Awful student.

3:14

Speaker G

we'll go

3:15

Speaker B

Yeah, uh

3:15

Speaker G

we'll go back to the criminals of later.

3:17

Speaker B

Yeah, okay, we'll we'll we'll get to that.

3:19

Speaker G

Alright.

3:20

Speaker B

Um and uh so long story short, uh i i this was in the nineties and uh I'm old enough that there weren't classes for web design.

3:28

Speaker B

design for web development right 'cause I'm an old guy and uh and so basically right out of college uh he started doing web and I s was a goofball for a bit longer and

3:37

Speaker G

Mm-hmm.

3:38

Speaker B

eventually got a little more serious um

3:40

Speaker G

About crime?

3:41

Speaker B

yeah. Okay. Yeah, organised crime Okay. got us together. And and when that when that uh when that fell through then um started a web design company.

3:47

Speaker G

Sure. Smart.

3:48

Speaker B

Uh January of two thousand been doing web since then. It's been uh April s of two thousand one that we've been doing orbit.

3:55

Speaker B

And we make websites.

3:56

Speaker B

That's that's a easy way to say it, right? We're not a branding company, we're not an app development company, we're not like a web marketing company really um we're in Ravenswood. There's thirty three of us, we've got twelve developers, five designers, six project managers and uh it's still me and Barrett. And uh th we've got a uh the C_E_O_ we just keep going. So this is it, that's orbit. And uh so you say you don't do you don't do branding uh you do branding.

4:22

Speaker I

We don't do branding.

4:22

Speaker G

You don't do branding.

4:23

Speaker I

We don't do branding.

4:24

Speaker G

Don't do it at all, you just build websites.

4:26

Speaker I

We build websites. We do one thing.

4:27

Speaker G

With results, right?

4:29

Speaker I

We do. Yeah? We do. They're good sites.

4:31

Speaker G

Yeah, talk about the results, 'cause that's a huge part of your business, I think, and kinda sets you apart from a lot of other studios out there.

4:37

Speaker I

Yeah, it there's uh there's art and science in every web design project. Ours maybe have a bit more science than some. Uh we start the process by researching keywords.

4:46

Speaker I

In the end, really, clients are happy if the sites get results. And so to do that, the sites have to do two things. They've gotta get traffic, and they've gotta convert visitors into leads or convert visitors into customers.

4:57

Speaker I

So those two numbers, right? Your traffic and your conversion rates equals R_O_I_

5:01

Speaker G

Right.

5:01

Speaker I

So you have to begin with the end in mind and uh it w it's all built into this big process with uh you know everything's done in-house. But no, we the b the client has to come with the brand.

5:12

Speaker G

Okay.

5:12

Speaker I

Uh the client has to come with the con

5:13

Speaker I

with the content.

5:14

Speaker I

And once it's done, you know, we're project based, we're gonna hand that off and we're available to do any kind of marketing support. The client wants some advice, you know, we we put a lot of m information out there in our blog and in our events and stuff like that, like Dave was talking about, but really it's uh Orbit's just a web design company, so it's a pretty narrow focus. Within that we're pretty broad. Uh we work with tons of the Chicago brands, that's our favourite thing. We're we're not going anywhere,

5:37

Speaker I

we're we're just Chicago focused. Um

5:39

Speaker G

Love it.

5:40

Speaker I

Yeah, it's uh it's good. It's good, we kicked off Luma Latte's the other day.

5:44

Speaker C

Oh man

5:45

Speaker G

You gotta you love

5:45

Speaker C

beat us

5:46

Speaker G

that

5:46

Speaker C

to it.

5:46

Speaker G

you

5:46

Speaker C

I try

5:46

Speaker G

gotta

5:46

Speaker C

to reach out to those guys.

5:47

Speaker I

What are you gonna reach out to lose?

5:48

Speaker B

Mm-hmm.

5:49

Speaker C

I wanted to build we wanna build a m pizza app.

5:52

Speaker G

Yeah?

5:52

Speaker C

Well,

5:52

Speaker I

Well,

5:52

Speaker C

you work

5:52

Speaker I

you guess

5:53

Speaker C

work you

5:53

Speaker I

you

5:53

Speaker C

don't

5:53

Speaker I

can we're

5:53

Speaker C

do apps,

5:53

Speaker I

we're so doing well. no no, you can do the app. But,

5:55

Speaker G

Yeah,

5:55

Speaker I

but uh

5:55

Speaker G

well

5:55

Speaker I

we kicked off Luma Latte's.

5:56

Speaker G

You're doing mobile web you are doing mobile web.

5:58

Speaker I

Every site is responsive,

5:59

Speaker G

Okay,

5:59

Speaker C

And

5:59

Speaker G

yeah.

6:00

Speaker I

that's

6:00

Speaker C

I see.

6:00

Speaker I

the standard now,

6:00

Speaker G

Okay

6:01

Speaker I

uh even e-commerce.

6:01

Speaker C

Gotcha.

6:02

Speaker G

Uh w

6:02

Speaker C

Luma Latte's, that's huge.

6:03

Speaker I

It's huge, right? Uh the last one was Vienna beef, which is also huge. That's responsive e-commerce

6:06

Speaker I

of e-commerce which is fun

6:07

Speaker C

Yeah.

6:07

Speaker I

so

6:07

Speaker C

Cool.

6:08

Speaker I

this is what we're most proud of that's that's kind of why we exist it's it's to build the good stuff for the good people right here in town so that's

6:17

Speaker C

Cool.

6:17

Speaker I

our style

6:17

Speaker G

What's the recipe though? What's the secret? Tell us the secret recipe.

6:22

Speaker I

you know this is I don't know how how fun this is gonna sound but really it's about removing variables you want the key to success online is to just

6:31

Speaker I

You just take away every risk, anything that ever could go wrong. So example, like a lot of people like will outsource something. Well, if you don't outsource that, you know that, you know, that's not going to go wrong. So you have everybody in-house, you have everybody on-site, you use the same process, use the same tools,

6:46

Speaker I

use the same hosting, and that doesn't mean the sites are all the same, I mean it's a total

6:49

Speaker B

Sure.

6:50

Speaker I

different outcome for every client, but uh it's, you know, great uh successful web design really has to be based on a strong

6:57

Speaker I

wrong process that is totally focused on an outcome uh and you do that by removing every variable from the process. That's uh that's a huge part of it. As thrilling as that sounds, right? You hear

7:09

Speaker G

Yeah.

7:09

Speaker I

I am yeah. But that's that's really what it's about.

7:11

Speaker G

So um I wanna step back a minute because I'm just wondering how you even got here because you were

7:19

Speaker I

A misfit.

7:21

Speaker G

Misfit? Yeah, a misfit delinquent with uh what did you major? Major in like Chinese?

7:26

Speaker B

I majored in Chinese.

7:27

Speaker G

Mandarin or something.

7:28

Speaker B

Yep.

7:29

Speaker G

Yep.

7:29

Speaker I

Yep.

7:29

Speaker G

And and

7:30

Speaker C

That's awesome.

7:30

Speaker I

yep. Random.

7:31

Speaker G

yeah, random.

7:32

Speaker B

Give

7:32

Speaker G

Something

7:32

Speaker B

it give us a story before orbits like what were you doing

7:35

Speaker G

In

7:35

Speaker B

right

7:36

Speaker G

I want you

7:36

Speaker B

before

7:36

Speaker G

to s that? give us a story in Mandarin.

7:38

Speaker B

Yeah.

7:39

Speaker G

In Mandarin.

7:39

Speaker I

Um, okay.

7:41

Speaker B

Um,

7:41

Speaker I

Um,

7:41

Speaker B

well,

7:42

Speaker B

zai da xue, yi shui de han yu.

7:44

Speaker A

You know, uh Dankjewel.

7:45

Speaker I

I was

7:45

Speaker A

I was sinds eenee meer oen.

7:46

Speaker I

I was only

7:47

Speaker B

Oh,

7:47

Speaker I

nineteen.

7:47

Speaker G

Okay.

7:47

Speaker B

that is awesome.

7:48

Speaker I

That's uh

7:49

Speaker B

Yeah.

7:49

Speaker I

I studied college and st college I studied Chinese and it's useless now as kind of Actually what I was just

7:53

Speaker B

with just one

7:53

Speaker I

starting

7:53

Speaker B

word,

7:53

Speaker I

to

7:54

Speaker B

it's

7:54

Speaker I

say.

7:54

Speaker B

like, okay.

7:55

Speaker I

Yeah.

7:55

Speaker B

Yeah.

7:56

Speaker I

So that's not really um Can we put subtitles on this uh recording

7:59

Speaker B

Yeah, well that's

7:59

Speaker I

of this?

7:59

Speaker B

gonna be the title of the show, by the way. It is. We're cutting

8:03

Speaker G

You

8:03

Speaker B

that out.

8:03

Speaker G

should, you have

8:03

Speaker B

It is, it is.

8:04

Speaker I

put it in character Chinese characters will

8:06

Speaker I

Uh yeah, so that's so four years o four years of Mandarin went to went to China

8:11

Speaker I

uh uh loved it lived it there for a while came back um got a job as an i-t recruiter or a uh international recruiter it was supposed to be that fell through is just i-t recruiting so I was just like

8:22

Speaker G

Oh.

8:22

Speaker I

a straight up i-t recruiter can you imagine that can you imagine that job

8:24

Speaker G

Yuck.

8:25

Speaker A

Yeah.

8:25

Speaker I

can you imagine that

8:26

Speaker G

You

8:26

Speaker I

job have no idea,

8:27

Speaker B

Yeah.

8:27

Speaker I

dave, what that would be like.

8:28

Speaker B

I sold

8:29

Speaker I

Yeah.

8:29

Speaker B

no

8:29

Speaker G

Copiers

8:29

Speaker B

clue.

8:29

Speaker G

out of college. That was my first job. So it's kind of worse.

8:33

Speaker I

You're starting somewhere.

8:33

Speaker G

It's starting somewhere.

8:34

Speaker I

People skills.

8:35

Speaker B

People's got it. People got to copy stuff.

8:37

Speaker G

People

8:37

Speaker I

Yeah.

8:37

Speaker G

do got to copy stuff.

8:39

Speaker G

Yeah, yeah, they do. So you were a good technical recruiter?

8:44

Speaker I

I got to the top of the firm.

8:46

Speaker G

Okay.

8:46

Speaker I

I mean, there were like six of us and I made it, you know, I became the, I mean as a tiny little place.

8:52

Speaker G

Yeah.

8:52

Speaker I

But it was downtown.

8:53

Speaker I

It got me into the city. It got me out of my mom's basement.

8:56

Speaker G

Mm.

8:56

Speaker I

Because that's what I was doing then.

8:57

Speaker C

What suburb?

8:57

Speaker I

And Hoffman Estates, Illinois.

8:59

Speaker C

Nice, nice.

9:00

Speaker B

Mmm.

9:00

Speaker G

Mm.

9:00

Speaker C

Sexy.

9:01

Speaker I

I know, that's

9:01

Speaker G

Yeah.

9:01

Speaker I

like

9:01

Speaker I

It's like right there rolling meadows so close

9:04

Speaker B

Mm-hmm. Yeah.

9:04

Speaker I

You talk about it. Yeah that I was that was living

9:08

Speaker B

Um

9:08

Speaker I

But we were making actually what really was happening was I was making interactive comic books

9:13

Speaker B

Ah!

9:14

Speaker C

Yeah,

9:14

Speaker I

Yeah

9:15

Speaker C

this is what I'm talking about.

9:16

Speaker I

Interactive comic books some claymation comic books pirate stories original

9:21

Speaker C

In soundtrack mom's basement.

9:22

Speaker I

in mom's basement.

9:23

Speaker C

Yep.

9:23

Speaker I

Yep. This is me. I'm working at Barnes & Noble

9:25

Speaker C

Yep.

9:25

Speaker I

She's

9:26

Speaker B

Um,

9:26

Speaker I

proud making

9:26

Speaker B

she's proud.

9:27

Speaker I

it. Yeah, she is

9:27

Speaker C

This is what we're talking about.

9:28

Speaker C

I want this

9:29

Speaker I

You

9:29

Speaker C

is this is the

9:29

Speaker I

want

9:29

Speaker C

dirt.

9:29

Speaker I

that?

9:30

Speaker C

This is the dirt.

9:30

Speaker I

Okay.

9:30

Speaker C

Yeah. Barnes and Noble.

9:31

Speaker I

Let's go back.

9:32

Speaker C

Yeah.

9:32

Speaker I

19โ€ฆ

9:33

Speaker C

What kind of car were you driving then?

9:34

Speaker I

An Oldsmobile stick shift. There was some old stickโ€ฆ it was called the Scorpion. It was a dark blue car bought from an ex-girlfriend in college.

9:42

Speaker C

Okay.

9:43

Speaker I

Yeah, so like let's say first half of 98,

9:46

Speaker I

living in mom's basement,

9:48

Speaker I

writing interactive clay pirate comic books in Caribou Coffee off of Higgins Road.

9:55

Speaker I

Road.

9:56

Speaker C

Described in detail.

9:56

Speaker I

And yeah, yeah, and and that was the dream, right, making papier mache pirate ships and sewing little pirate clothes to make uh interactive c pirate comic

10:06

Speaker G

Oh man.

10:06

Speaker I

called the tales of Captain Claybeard.

10:09

Speaker I

Which

10:10

Speaker G

Tell me these exist somewhere right

10:11

Speaker I

I

10:12

Speaker G

now.

10:12

Speaker I

never say this. I'll say it for you and your audience. It's OrbitComics.com.

10:16

Speaker G

Wow.

10:17

Speaker G

Wow.

10:18

Speaker I

There is

10:18

Speaker G

Our first breaking story.

10:19

Speaker I

it's been a long time. You will be the first visitors to that site in a long time

10:23

Speaker C

Let's

10:23

Speaker I

and it broke

10:23

Speaker C

revive

10:24

Speaker I

down.

10:24

Speaker C

this.

10:25

Speaker I

So somewhere on this probably like weird Flash website. I don't even know. I haven't looked at it myself in a long time.

10:30

Speaker I

There are I think a few pages of this interactive multiple choice.

10:34

Speaker I

original score claymation pirate story so

10:38

Speaker C

Nice. Was mom bringing you down like grilled cheese and

10:40

Speaker I

yeah

10:40

Speaker C

peanut butter and jelly sandwiches? No bread. No crust.

10:44

Speaker E

Mom, there's crust on this!

10:45

Speaker G

Yeah.

10:46

Speaker I

yeah

10:46

Speaker C

That's awesome.

10:48

Speaker G

Yeah.

10:48

Speaker C

that's awesome.

10:49

Speaker I

uh that was it was fun but uh and I learned flash right it was I was totally obsessed with flash

10:55

Speaker C

Sure.

10:55

Speaker I

it was flash was all the rage it was like flash three and we were like

10:59

Speaker I

like hacking it to get it to, you know, use an embeddable movie clip to stay on a frame as a fake variable like

11:05

Speaker B

Ah.

11:05

Speaker I

we all kinds of weird things

11:06

Speaker C

Oh, we yeah.

11:06

Speaker I

did with it and um and and yeah, so those skills I guess rolled into the not the client and well, you know, I worked in restaurants and uh that that's where you learn client service and we did

11:17

Speaker B

True.

11:17

Speaker I

interactive comics and that's where I learned media and uh starting in January of two thousand that became you know, put those together, you got a web design company.

11:24

Speaker C

So what was your fir what was your first cli

11:26

Speaker C

Client when you decided

11:27

Speaker I

Oh,

11:27

Speaker C

okay

11:28

Speaker I

man.

11:28

Speaker C

an orbit is real.

11:29

Speaker I

Okay.

11:29

Speaker C

Like we're gonna do this

11:30

Speaker I

I got another breaking story for you because I never tell people this web address and I'm pitching them a new website right now but my first, the first website I ever did is still live.

11:38

Speaker I

It's like 600 pixels wide. It's orange and it's called tabledrapes.com. It's a website where you can order like, it's actually a great little business.

11:47

Speaker I

They make large format screen printing,

11:49

Speaker I

trade show table throws and table skirts.

11:53

Speaker I

Babel drapes taco now he's

11:54

Speaker G

I'm

11:54

Speaker I

talking

11:54

Speaker G

going right now.

11:55

Speaker I

that's it that's the first website ever worked on and that was the I was the designer and he was the programmer and that's

12:01

Speaker I

I mean

12:02

Speaker C

you know what we're

12:03

Speaker G

Wow,

12:03

Speaker C

not you

12:03

Speaker G

I feel so close to you right now looking at this, you know?

12:06

Speaker C

know you know we're almost not that far away with uh with the napkin app

12:10

Speaker G

Yeah, that's true.

12:11

Speaker I

That's uh that's a thirteen year old website that actually still

12:14

Speaker G

Still

12:14

Speaker I

gets

12:14

Speaker G

humming.

12:14

Speaker I

and it's still still producing ROI actually that's uh they're not unhappy with it to this day, but um no I'd rather I sh can we bleep that out? I don't want your I not ever wants to see that website.

12:25

Speaker C

Yeah.

12:26

Speaker G

Do you want that out

12:26

Speaker B

Maybe.

12:26

Speaker G

of there?

12:27

Speaker I

No, no, no, I'll leave it in.

12:28

Speaker G

No,

12:28

Speaker I

You want something

12:29

Speaker G

you want to leave

12:29

Speaker I

fancy?

12:29

Speaker G

it in? Alright.

12:29

Speaker I

They'll get some traffic from it, right?

12:31

Speaker G

Yeah,

12:31

Speaker I

There'll be

12:31

Speaker G

but some yeah, it's great for

12:32

Speaker C

You know what, we're going to

12:32

Speaker G

table

12:32

Speaker C

call drops. we'll we'll get them to sponsor the show.

12:34

Speaker G

Actually, this is the table we're sitting at right now might need a drape,

12:37

Speaker I

That's

12:37

Speaker G

so

12:37

Speaker I

right. That's

12:37

Speaker G

you know what?

12:38

Speaker I

right.

12:38

Speaker I

Table drapes suck. It ranks number one for table drapes. So look it up.

12:41

Speaker G

No doubt, what a strong

12:42

Speaker C

How much do

12:43

Speaker G

domain.

12:43

Speaker C

you have to pay for that web address?

12:44

Speaker C

tabledrapes.com. Is that what it is?

12:46

Speaker I

I don't know. Yeah, um I remember like we were in my second bedroom and we just like sketched out the logo

12:51

Speaker I

Oh, and I mean, it was super scrappy, like beginner kind of. It was like literally the two guys in the second bedroom trying

12:57

Speaker C

Right.

12:57

Speaker I

to make websites.

12:57

Speaker C

So you are, at least in most people's eyes, definitely mine, like a content god here.

13:07

Speaker C

And where,

13:07

Speaker I

Wow.

13:08

Speaker C

I mean, where did this come from? Like you're putting out amazing newsletters all the time.

13:15

Speaker I

Posts.

13:16

Speaker C

Gas

13:16

Speaker G

Blogs.

13:17

Speaker C

posts.

13:17

Speaker G

You can gas blog

13:17

Speaker C

You're

13:17

Speaker G

anything.

13:18

Speaker C

everywhere,

13:18

Speaker C

and every event that you speak at, I mean, people are coming away with really meaningful advice and stuff they can actually implement on their own. Where did this come from? Like, where

13:28

Speaker I

Dave, thank you.

13:29

Speaker C

I know,

13:29

Speaker I

Wow.

13:29

Speaker C

I know.

13:30

Speaker C

Wow,

13:30

Speaker C

I've been thinking about that for a long time.

13:32

Speaker I

It sounded great.

13:32

Speaker C

But you know what? You send out your, you send out your email blast at a perfect time, because I'm just getting ready to go in the shower,

13:37

Speaker C

and I read them right before.

13:40

Speaker C

I do.

13:40

Speaker I

That's good. That's that's the idea. They go with they go

13:42

Speaker B

They go with uh clean hygiene and it's part of the shower

13:45

Speaker C

Well,

13:45

Speaker G

Ah.

13:45

Speaker C

you know, I'm waiting for it to get hot and I just read it. I'm like, wow, that was great.

13:49

Speaker I

It's um

13:50

Speaker C

I'm going to get to work and do something.

13:51

Speaker I

You know, i hearing that just makes me step up and I got another I got another deadline for another newsletter. I have no idea what we're going to publish. So um yeah, pressures on. Thanks for that. Uh

14:01

Speaker G

Yeah.

14:01

Speaker I

come up with something

14:02

Speaker G

As

14:02

Speaker I

good.

14:02

Speaker G

you're writing,

14:03

Speaker I

Oh.

14:03

Speaker G

think of Dave stepping into

14:04

Speaker C

Well,

14:04

Speaker G

the bathroom.

14:05

Speaker C

w well actually, speaking of that, you

14:07

Speaker C

I've

14:07

Speaker B

that's

14:07

Speaker C

heard you talk before and you've given yeah, think of me in the bathroom.

14:11

Speaker G

Just about to de-robes.

14:12

Speaker A

Just beaming.

14:13

Speaker G

And

14:13

Speaker C

Yeah.

14:13

Speaker G

and fire up his iPhone.

14:15

Speaker B

Right.

14:16

Speaker A

Yeah.

14:16

Speaker G

Yeah.

14:16

Speaker B

Yeah.

14:16

Speaker C

That's true.

14:17

Speaker G

Yeah.

14:17

Speaker C

But I might be going to the bathroom too sometimes when I read it. But we can put that you can take that out.

14:21

Speaker G

Yeah. There we go, Dave.

14:22

Speaker B

No, that's gonna stay in.

14:24

Speaker C

Yeah, stay in. Well, yeah.

14:25

Speaker C

Um what the way you come up with the content for the blogs is actually interesting, the w the content that you use is actually

14:34

Speaker C

Mm on purpose because it's searchable content, correct?

14:39

Speaker I

Yeah, there's a there's a process for it, so let's say we could do one now. I mean you just you basically come up with a topic, right, like let's say

14:48

Speaker C

Showering.

14:48

Speaker I

how to I was gonna say how to promote a podcast, but we can

14:51

Speaker G

Okay.

14:51

Speaker I

focus on the bathroom if you'd like.

14:52

Speaker C

Yeah,

14:52

Speaker I

But

14:52

Speaker C

go

14:53

Speaker G

okay.

14:53

Speaker C

home and bathroom.

14:53

Speaker G

Okay.

14:54

Speaker I

Okay, so bathroom topics. Let's say that we choose something about showering, maybe it's something, I mean, it's got to be related to a business thing, right? These are school

15:03

Speaker G

Sure.

15:04

Speaker I

-oriented things, so

15:05

Speaker G

Sure.

15:05

Speaker I

whatever

15:06

Speaker B

Mm-hmm.

15:06

Speaker C

You could do this.

15:06

Speaker I

that might be, you know, shower caps, let's say. Okay, we're a shower cap business, and we're going to write a blog post today,

15:12

Speaker I

and so it's something about, something related to tips for the shower, hygiene, I don't know, foot fungus, flip-flops, whatever your topics are.

15:20

Speaker I

So you basically choose a topic then you align it with a key phrase.

15:24

Speaker C

Mm-hmm.

15:24

Speaker I

That's a huge huge part of my philosophy behind blogging, one of the big blogging has you know three main benefits. Search, social and email. If you don't align it with a key phrase, research key phrases, you know you're not gonna get the search benefit. And then you get traffic like that day or that week and then it kinda dies. No one's

15:41

Speaker C

Right.

15:42

Speaker I

gonna find our flip-flap article in n in two months if we didn't make it visible in search.

15:46

Speaker I

So a lot of what I do, like the last newsletter was about thank you pages.

15:51

Speaker G

I saw that.

15:52

Speaker G

Yep, Yeah,

15:53

Speaker I

there

15:53

Speaker G

it's you radical.

15:53

Speaker I

go. Yep. So it it it's uh it it ranks, right, because thank you it it start getting two phrases, thank you page examples,

16:00

Speaker G

Mm-hmm.

16:00

Speaker I

which is like two hundred and ninety people per month search for that. Okay. And thank you pages, nine thousand nine hundred people search for that every month. So

16:08

Speaker G

So you're researching the the key-word phrase for the topic of the blog before you actually write it, right?

16:13

Speaker I

Correct.

16:13

Speaker G

Yeah.

16:14

Speaker I

Yep. Uh it's it's the it or during somewhere somewhere in that in that time I'm gonna

16:18

Speaker I

I'm gonna figure out like what people are searching for. So uh the idea is to make it uh high-quality and make it visible both through email, social, but but really search. And then it stays up there. And that that post will get traffic for months, for years sometimes. There's dozens of phrases, right, like probably half of the blog posts I've written are ranking on page one for something.

16:40

Speaker I

And then what happens is people find them, people find them useful and sometimes, you know, they'll they'll they'll find it and subscribe. You'll get you'll you know, if you do this long enough, you get subscribers every day.

16:50

Speaker I

Um and then some people will find it and blog a blog about that topic and link to it. If you do this long enough you'll get links every day. And basically that's how you slowly begin to dominate is by uh organically attracting links which help search, organically attracting subscribers which helps email, organically attracting I mean if you just put enough content out there, um you know everything just starts to get easier in life.

17:12

Speaker A

Hmm.

17:12

Speaker I

That's the philosophy.

17:13

Speaker G

You have a lot of good writers on staff actually. I just I read the

17:16

Speaker G

Chili con queso posts, I mean

17:18

Speaker B

Oh,

17:18

Speaker G

Who

17:18

Speaker B

that's

17:19

Speaker G

the hell doesn't love chili con queso? It was a great headline.

17:22

Speaker I

Uh,

17:22

Speaker G

And

17:22

Speaker I

she's a mega star and

17:24

Speaker G

yeah.

17:24

Speaker I

that's the first time she's written for us. That's Ginny Dietrich uh from Spin Sucks. You want to talk about an amazing blog uh do you guys any I don't know if you know Ginny a lot of she's a PR okay she's in she's in PR she has a PR firm she's been doing this uh a long time. She's a keynote speaker like A-lister like huge. Um and she is like in here.

17:43

Speaker I

In here in town. She's on the north side. She's not that far from me.

17:45

Speaker I

Anyway,

17:46

Speaker C

Of course.

17:47

Speaker I

dinsucks.com. Yeah, everyone's up there.

17:49

Speaker C

Everyone's

17:49

Speaker I

I don't know up why,

17:49

Speaker C

there.

17:49

Speaker I

yeah. Isn't it hard to attract talent down here and

17:52

Speaker C

Yeah,

17:52

Speaker I

recruit

17:52

Speaker C

yeah. Seriously.

17:52

Speaker I

in the hard downtown?

17:52

Speaker C

Never

17:52

Speaker I

to Yeah.

17:52

Speaker C

mind.

17:53

Speaker I

Yeah.

17:53

Speaker C

I'm gonna switch

17:53

Speaker I

I don't know what

17:54

Speaker C

off that

17:54

Speaker I

you question. guys do down here.

17:55

Speaker C

Where

17:56

Speaker I

Yeah.

17:56

Speaker C

are we even?

17:57

Speaker I

I know, I

17:57

Speaker C

Yeah.

17:57

Speaker I

don't know what

17:57

Speaker C

We came

17:58

Speaker I

this neighborhood

17:58

Speaker C

in and he's is like,

17:58

Speaker I

is.

17:58

Speaker C

where what is this place?

18:00

Speaker I

Yeah, right.

18:00

Speaker C

I know.

18:00

Speaker I

I was like,

18:00

Speaker B

What are those big buildings over there? It's super strange.

18:03

Speaker I

I don't recognize those. I'm like, I'm south of Addison right now. Where am I? I'm lost.

18:08

Speaker I

Uh but Jenny has a has a has a blog.

18:10

Speaker I

has a blog called spin sucks and a bad post will get fifty comments. She's a community building genius. There are

18:18

Speaker G

Fifty comments for a bad post, that's

18:19

Speaker I

yeah,

18:19

Speaker G

amazing.

18:20

Speaker I

a lot

18:20

Speaker G

Yeah.

18:20

Speaker I

of them clear a hundred, and there's two a day.

18:22

Speaker G

Oh, whoa.

18:23

Speaker I

And it is the most engaged community I have ever seen in a website by a lot. Um

18:28

Speaker C

And that's awesome.

18:28

Speaker I

and it's super fun. Like if you wanna and that and uh there's an example of of how guest blogging has not just search but social benefits.

18:35

Speaker I

It's you write a fun post for spin sucks and you will just it just lights on fire and your next day and a half you're gonna be responding to comments, you know Getting a ton of followers and just chatting with new people online making friends

18:47

Speaker I

that's a

18:48

Speaker I

She's she's someone to watch and learn from and we're honored to have Jenny on our on our blog today Jenny Dietrich

18:55

Speaker C

So somewhere along the way you f you realize you know a little bit something about content and

18:59

Speaker C

and building websites and then you got cocky and you made a you decided to make a book.

19:04

Speaker G

Yeah. Went overboard. Just pushed my luck on that

19:06

Speaker C

Yeah.

19:06

Speaker G

one. And um yeah,

19:08

Speaker G

it's uh y i mean

19:10

Speaker C

Uh, you didn't make the book, well maybe you did make the

19:13

Speaker G

Yeah,

19:13

Speaker C

book.

19:13

Speaker G

maybe you went back to your mom's basement.

19:14

Speaker C

And you made

19:15

Speaker G

Right,

19:15

Speaker C

the you book.

19:15

Speaker G

got

19:15

Speaker I

Yep.

19:15

Speaker G

all the materials

19:16

Speaker C

You wrote

19:17

Speaker G

together.

19:17

Speaker C

a book,

19:17

Speaker G

It's

19:17

Speaker C

you paper wrote a

19:18

Speaker G

mache,

19:18

Speaker C

book.

19:18

Speaker G

it's cl it's

19:19

Speaker C

I eat crusts!

19:20

Speaker G

yeah.

19:22

Speaker G

Yeah, it's uh it they I got out the sewing kit and the paper mache.

19:26

Speaker I

made some clay and I made the book just like Claybeard in style. No, it's a

19:32

Speaker C

So what is this book? Tell us about it.

19:33

Speaker I

okay. Uh content is so if I I say it this way sometimes, if Orbit was if Orbit built cars, I'd be a drivers ed teacher. The idea is that, you know, building a website is not enough. You have to m have activity behind it to get results. Um you have website if you don't have a a pulse or if you're not publishing anything, your website is a brochure. And that's totally fine, but uh the real prize goes to people

19:53

Speaker G

to people that can actually uh produce content and and you know give their website kind of give people a reason to come back, give search engines a reason to rank it. So that's what the book's about it's it's um I wrote a blog post that explained uh how you can blog with intent and blog with an ended mind, and then I decided to take my own advice and turn and gradually um blog my way into a book kind of uh there's five or six posts that were repurposed into the book and then another

20:16

Speaker I

100 pages of other advice that I knew that I

20:18

Speaker C

Uh-oh.

20:18

Speaker I

had in me and so it's called content chemistry. If you search for it you can find it, it's on Amazon,

20:22

Speaker C

I'm sure you

20:23

Speaker I

yeah,

20:23

Speaker C

can.

20:23

Speaker I

you can find it pretty easily.

20:24

Speaker B

Ha ha ha.

20:25

Speaker I

Um and uh th it's the it's not I'm not trying to really like be an author, it's just an example of how you can go bigger with content. Uh it's uh it's really just a te it's like a textbook almost, it's a handbook, it's n you it's full of charts, there's like fifty different diagrams or something.

20:42

Speaker I

Um but it's uh it's really just an example of uh of of more marketing. You know I think we've s total right now we're about six grand in the whole on it, because

20:53

Speaker G

Okay.

20:53

Speaker I

I give it away for free all the time. Uh drop it from helicopters is

20:56

Speaker G

Yeah.

20:57

Speaker I

really the marketing plan. Right.

20:58

Speaker B

Yeah, I d you didn't bring any

21:00

Speaker I

I brought one for you.

21:01

Speaker E

Hey.

21:02

Speaker G

Hey, where's the bell?

21:03

Speaker B

Oh yeah.

21:03

Speaker G

I wanna ring the bell.

21:04

Speaker C

Yeah, there's no bell. Always bring it, he's busting it out right now.

21:07

Speaker G

Oh man.

21:07

Speaker C

No one knows what I just meant by that, but yeah, he's getting the book out.

21:11

Speaker G

No way. It's

21:12

Speaker B

Oh.

21:12

Speaker G

our first gift, our first breaking

21:14

Speaker C

Thank you.

21:14

Speaker G

story, our Oh, first gift.

21:15

Speaker C

we'll take it, we'll take it. Wait, let's get a picture of Andy holding this right now.

21:19

Speaker G

Oh oh yeah, let's do that.

21:20

Speaker C

And we gotta get signed. No, we're gonna get a picture of you signing this book.

21:24

Speaker G

I don't know that that's gonna really uh

21:26

Speaker C

That's gonna devalue it?

21:28

Speaker I

Okay.

21:28

Speaker C

Well, it's

21:29

Speaker I

This

21:29

Speaker C

good. one is for you. For the bath f for Dave. Right, and th and for Dave in his shower.

21:34

Speaker G

Oh man.

21:38

Speaker I

For Dave.

21:40

Speaker A

With love. Oh, man.

21:42

Speaker B

I like

21:42

Speaker A

And

21:42

Speaker B

that.

21:42

Speaker A

towels.

21:43

Speaker B

Towels. Sometimes.

21:47

Speaker A

Yeah,

21:47

Speaker B

Nice.

21:48

Speaker A

here you go.

21:48

Speaker B

I'm in the neighborhood if you ever want to swing by.

21:50

Speaker A

No, no. Oh, oh, that would be great. You know what? You know what I want to set up, Andy?

21:53

Speaker B

Yeah.

21:54

Speaker A

Dave's birthday is actually coming

21:55

Speaker B

Tomorrow.

21:56

Speaker A

up.

21:56

Speaker A

I

21:56

Speaker B

What?

21:56

Speaker A

want you. Could you just go over there?

22:00

Speaker A

Right before shower time, maybe he's in the shower, you're sitting on the pot at steaming, nothing,

22:05

Speaker A

you can't see anything.

22:06

Speaker A

Could you just read him?

22:08

Speaker A

Read

22:08

Speaker B

them read

22:08

Speaker A

that

22:08

Speaker B

the morning

22:08

Speaker A

morning or I chose.

22:09

Speaker B

the post i

22:10

Speaker A

Yeah, yeah.

22:10

Speaker B

would love that when a practice opened

22:12

Speaker A

That's my gift to you, Dave.

22:13

Speaker B

Yeah,

22:13

Speaker A

That sounds

22:14

Speaker B

just read

22:14

Speaker A

good.

22:14

Speaker B

me a chapter every week

22:15

Speaker B

You got it. That's uh, okay, we're gonna talk about compelling calls to action right I would you know what I'd much rather I do it like Princess Bride style where he's in the bed with me like like

22:24

Speaker A

Oh,

22:24

Speaker B

the grandpa's

22:24

Speaker A

like the grandpa.

22:24

Speaker B

in bed with Fred Savage

22:26

Speaker A

Right.

22:26

Speaker B

And then I get like freaked out and it goes back to the scene and it's like no I don't want to I don't want to hear about them kissing he's like okay then we're done

22:33

Speaker B

But

22:33

Speaker A

No.

22:33

Speaker B

we're done, Grandpa. You know, we're done. We're done.

22:35

Speaker B

Do you want me to go?

22:36

Speaker A

No.

22:36

Speaker B

Okay,

22:36

Speaker B

22:38

Speaker B

And then at the end,

22:39

Speaker A

Oh. Yeah.

22:39

Speaker B

Andy leaves.

22:40

Speaker A

Oh.

22:41

Speaker B

And I say, Andy.

22:43

Speaker A

Will you come back

22:44

Speaker B

Will you come

22:44

Speaker A

and make

22:44

Speaker B

back tomorrow

22:44

Speaker A

some more? Yeah.

22:45

Speaker B

and read it again?

22:46

Speaker C

Oh, this is this is

22:48

Speaker A

a blog post. That's the next newsletter right there.

22:50

Speaker B

Who isn't searching for princess

22:52

Speaker C

I don't

22:52

Speaker B

brides

22:52

Speaker C

think I was constantly? gonna be the first person

22:53

Speaker A

The Fred Savage

22:53

Speaker C

to try the

22:54

Speaker A

guy.

22:54

Speaker C

show.

22:55

Speaker A

Yeah.

22:55

Speaker C

But I am really

22:58

Speaker B

You're tearing up.

22:58

Speaker A

Yeah.

22:59

Speaker B

You're tearing

22:59

Speaker A

I am

22:59

Speaker B

up a little bit.

23:00

Speaker C

yeah.

23:00

Speaker A

Oh

23:01

Speaker B

Wow, this really got derailed. I don't know what happened.

23:03

Speaker A

But Fred Savage

23:04

Speaker C

That wasn't

23:04

Speaker A

reference.

23:05

Speaker C

real.

23:05

Speaker B

Yeah.

23:05

Speaker A

It's bringing me back.

23:07

Speaker C

Yeah,

23:07

Speaker B

Isn't

23:07

Speaker C

everybody

23:07

Speaker B

so good?

23:08

Speaker C

loves Fred Savage.

23:08

Speaker B

Oh, I just saw it the other day.

23:09

Speaker B

Dang, wow.

23:10

Speaker A

I like

23:10

Speaker B

Did

23:10

Speaker A

it.

23:10

Speaker B

you almost not follow through with Orbit?

23:14

Speaker B

Like, was there a time where you were really struggling and you were like,

23:18

Speaker B

maybe I'm not going to do this?

23:19

Speaker A

Oh man,

23:20

Speaker A

I haven't written this, but I thought about writing the post where I should actually scan my social security statement.

23:26

Speaker A

I made $5,000 in 2000 and $7,000 in 2001.

23:31

Speaker A

And uh then then I went back down to five thousand dollars in two thousand two,

23:36

Speaker D

Mm.

23:36

Speaker A

because the economy sucked, we had no clients, and we just scraped by.

23:40

Speaker B

Yeah, I what was your

23:41

Speaker A

I almost

23:41

Speaker B

life like

23:41

Speaker A

died.

23:41

Speaker B

then? I mean a lot of people are starting startups and companies and

23:45

Speaker C

Yeah.

23:45

Speaker B

there's lonely times and there's times you're failing a lot.

23:48

Speaker A

Yep.

23:48

Speaker B

What advice do you have? I mean

23:50

Speaker B

based on your own experience.

23:52

Speaker A

Well, answer the question why.

23:54

Speaker A

Know why you're doing what you're doing. Right? If you love what you're doing, if you believe in the concept and if you are totally dedicated to the model,

24:00

Speaker A

it really doesn't matter.

24:02

Speaker A

Nothing will stop you anyway.

24:03

Speaker A

So you can do a lot of introspection and I think people should doubt themselves,

24:08

Speaker A

but don't do it every day. Maybe set a time, you know, okay, I'm going to review my concept every quarter.

24:14

Speaker A

Between now and then I'm not going to think about it, right? I'm not going to complain or doubt myself every time.

24:18

Speaker B

Mm-hmm.

24:18

Speaker A

Um but once you're once you're in it, right if you know why you're doing it and if you have purpose and you believe in the concept and you're totally dedicated to uh to your startup, whatever it is, um you are i this is going to sound insane. You're just not going to fail.

24:34

Speaker A

You're going to adapt it. You're going to change it. You're going to put in more sweat,

24:37

Speaker A

right?

24:37

Speaker A

I had the Calvin Coolidge quote framed in my office.

24:42

Speaker A

Do you know this one?

24:42

Speaker A

Press on.

24:45

Speaker A

No, persistence alone is omnipotent.

24:48

Speaker C

Nice.

24:48

Speaker A

If you do not give up, you do not fail. They're basically the same thing, right? So so if you're just totally focused, if you're as obsessed and single minded and just crazy about what you're doing as I was back then and still am,

25:00

Speaker A

you're invincible.

25:02

Speaker A

Nothing will beat you. I mean, your competitors will they'll wonder how you did it because you worked harder, smarter,

25:09

Speaker A

longer and you stayed focused on that one thing for longer than anybody else.

25:13

Speaker A

us uh and so those like a tree right, those roots are deeper and that trunk is stronger. You basically are going to become uber relevant in your field uh no matter what eventually.

25:24

Speaker B

That's awesome. So when you went back down to five thousand,

25:28

Speaker B

Were you like, that's it,

25:29

Speaker B

I gotta get a real job. Like, I gotta like, I gotta work it.

25:32

Speaker A

I had to keep I did have to keep it real of course so I took teaching gigs because I was I got certified to teach and I was I was a teacher of English in China and I went back and I started teaching English at DePaul to these groups of Chinese students just a little bit on the side.

25:48

Speaker A

But yeah, I um I was be I b I burned through the whole 401k that I had as a recruiter, all my savings. Uh my partner racked up a credit card. Um and we just uh we were just totally determined. So uh I don't

26:03

Speaker B

What

26:03

Speaker A

think

26:03

Speaker B

what

26:03

Speaker A

we really consider, we didn't really even consider quitting. I don't that that

26:06

Speaker B

like what got you over the hump?

26:08

Speaker B

When were you like okay, w this is now where we figured this out.

26:11

Speaker A

Right. Uh there's a a million little victories you've gotta celebrate along the way. So what does uh what your reason why, you know you should be both finding the answer to that all the time. So for us it was a lot of the clients results, it was a lot of the feedback we were getting on the work we did, uh it was the occasion you know the referral here and there and just people telling us that we were doing good work for them. Um

26:34

Speaker A

You know, you're you're working for dirt and compliments, so enjoy those compliments.

26:39

Speaker B

Sure.

26:39

Speaker A

Yeah.

26:39

Speaker B

You're just getting free pizza now from Luminati's. That's it. That's

26:42

Speaker A

Yeah,

26:42

Speaker B

how you're right. paid, right?

26:43

Speaker A

I am so thrilled to be working. It's it and that's

26:46

Speaker B

That's an aw

26:46

Speaker A

that's a payoff right? I mean it to do a website for Lou Malnati's

26:49

Speaker B

Yeah.

26:50

Speaker A

like I have I I'm

26:52

Speaker B

Pretty awesome.

26:52

Speaker A

we're built on that stuff, right? You are what you eat. I mean, I'm like a third

26:55

Speaker B

I ate

26:55

Speaker A

Lou Malnati.

26:55

Speaker B

I ate it today for lunch.

26:57

Speaker A

Did

26:57

Speaker B

I'm not even you lying.

26:57

Speaker A

really?

26:58

Speaker B

Yeah.

26:58

Speaker A

I believe it. Yeah, it's the best

26:59

Speaker B

With

26:59

Speaker A

out

26:59

Speaker B

the there. sausage patty.

27:00

Speaker A

Oh yeah,

27:01

Speaker B

Yeah.

27:01

Speaker A

the sausage lose, I mean how else do It you get,

27:03

Speaker B

can't be that.

27:03

Speaker A

no, it's irresistible.

27:05

Speaker B

Yeah.

27:05

Speaker A

And that's a huge, huge honour for us, you know, Vienna beef,

27:09

Speaker B

I

27:10

Speaker A

American Charter Bank, Luma Nadies, Linkin Park Zoo, all of the these are why we exist. Uh I love these companies and I'm so grateful for all the clients that have made this possible, that's why we're in business. Um, you know, take care of the people you work for and work with and

27:26

Speaker A

and uh everything will work out somehow in the end.

27:29

Speaker E

Cool.

27:29

Speaker C

Well, I think it's time. I think it

27:32

Speaker A

is.

27:32

Speaker C

I think

27:32

Speaker A

I think

27:32

Speaker C

it's it is. time. I think it's time. You know it's coming because you're

27:36

Speaker A

Yeah.

27:37

Speaker C

one of the few guests who've listened to a few of the shows.

27:39

Speaker A

I think I do know what's coming.

27:40

Speaker C

Do you?

27:40

Speaker A

And I pre I'm prepared for this.

27:42

Speaker C

Are you?

27:42

Speaker A

I think so.

27:43

Speaker C

Do you want to ask yourself the question?

27:45

Speaker B

Um, if I know what you're gonna ask, it's uh it's about um um a b bread preference,

27:51

Speaker C

Uh-huh, uh-huh.

27:52

Speaker B

and it's about uh specifically bagels and what kind

27:54

Speaker A

Yeah.

27:54

Speaker B

of bagel.

27:55

Speaker A

What

27:55

Speaker C

Yeah, yeah. The question is

27:57

Speaker A

Yeah.

27:58

Speaker C

what is your favourite bagel, and how do you like it prepared?

28:04

Speaker B

Okay.

28:05

Speaker A

I know that the they I I was I knew you'd ask and I'm gonna answer differently than I think all your other guests have asked

28:10

Speaker C

Oh boy.

28:11

Speaker A

um I am going to choose the bagel dog

28:15

Speaker C

Whaaat?

28:16

Speaker A

I know man I could eat those every day I would eat them every day

28:20

Speaker C

Yeah!

28:20

Speaker B

That's awesome.

28:21

Speaker A

so

28:22

Speaker C

Yeah!

28:22

Speaker A

I

28:23

Speaker B

From

28:23

Speaker A

would get

28:23

Speaker B

where?

28:23

Speaker A

well

28:24

Speaker A

I mean if you're gonna get them you you can get them at home and uh vianabeef.com you can order like

28:29

Speaker B

Oh,

28:29

Speaker A

a five

28:30

Speaker B

I knew he

28:30

Speaker A

pound

28:30

Speaker B

was going

28:30

Speaker A

box

28:30

Speaker B

here.

28:30

Speaker A

of beggar

28:31

Speaker B

I knew he was going

28:31

Speaker A

dogs,

28:31

Speaker C

Look at this guy.

28:31

Speaker B

here.

28:31

Speaker A

but that's

28:32

Speaker C

I can't

28:32

Speaker A

not my v that's not my answer. It's

28:33

Speaker B

Okay.

28:34

Speaker A

the it's Einstein's

28:35

Speaker B

Okay.

28:35

Speaker C

Okay.

28:35

Speaker A

uh

28:36

Speaker C

They got

28:36

Speaker A

and

28:36

Speaker C

it nice.

28:36

Speaker A

and you get the Asiago bagel dog which they're out of like half the time. They don't care at that place.

28:41

Speaker C

Yeah.

28:42

Speaker A

They don't have the love. Yeah.

28:43

Speaker C

Right.

28:43

Speaker A

But if you get the af the Asiago bagel dog right and you get it without the meal because you don't want those weird like chips or that

28:50

Speaker B

Yeah.

28:50

Speaker A

potato salad's not very good.

28:51

Speaker A

good

28:51

Speaker C

Oh, you yeah.

28:52

Speaker A

get it solo and

28:52

Speaker B

Okay.

28:53

Speaker A

then the mustard packets are just the crappy yellow mustard so ask

28:57

Speaker C

Yeah.

28:57

Speaker A

them they keep the good spicy mustard

28:58

Speaker C

No behind joke.

28:59

Speaker A

there yeah

29:00

Speaker B

Mm-hmm.

29:00

Speaker A

so ask them for the good mustard

29:01

Speaker C

because Don't

29:02

Speaker A

they've got

29:02

Speaker C

love

29:02

Speaker A

it yeah

29:02

Speaker C

Yeah.

29:03

Speaker B

Yeah.

29:03

Speaker A

so the asiago bagel dog with the spicy mustard the secret behind the counter mustard and uh and

29:09

Speaker B

That's awesome.

29:09

Speaker A

and that's you know i could eat two three of those easy

29:12

Speaker B

Wow.

29:13

Speaker C

Man.

29:13

Speaker B

That's

29:13

Speaker C

Man,

29:13

Speaker B

a great it's answer.

29:14

Speaker C

so

29:14

Speaker B

I don't

29:14

Speaker C

good.

29:14

Speaker B

even know what are you doing? You didn't talk about any exercise regimen. You're eating chocolate croissant in the morning.

29:20

Speaker B

You're

29:20

Speaker A

No.

29:20

Speaker B

eating three bagel dogs every day.

29:23

Speaker A

You're not

29:23

Speaker B

And

29:23

Speaker A

over,

29:23

Speaker B

you're

29:23

Speaker A

you're not,

29:24

Speaker B

out of

29:24

Speaker A

you're

29:24

Speaker B

work

29:24

Speaker A

not overweight.

29:24

Speaker B

totally. You're not over 160,

29:26

Speaker C

Look at this guy.

29:26

Speaker B

four pounds.

29:27

Speaker C

Look at this guy. He's walking

29:28

Speaker A

No,

29:28

Speaker C

catwalks.

29:28

Speaker A

I'm underweight. I'm way underweight because I eat, I just don't, I'm lazy about food.

29:33

Speaker A

I'm really bad at eating and I just don't like to, I just, food's a pain in the ass.

29:37

Speaker A

If there was a...

29:39

Speaker A

Uh a place to get those bagel dogs near me. I would probably weigh

29:42

Speaker B

Are

29:42

Speaker A

like two hundred pounds, but

29:43

Speaker B

Are you working out? Do you work

29:44

Speaker A

No,

29:44

Speaker B

out? Are you

29:45

Speaker A

I running? never work out. No, you run.

29:46

Speaker C

Yeah.

29:46

Speaker B

How do you know that?

29:47

Speaker A

I know you run. I Look seen

29:48

Speaker C

at

29:48

Speaker A

you

29:48

Speaker C

this,

29:48

Speaker A

run.

29:48

Speaker C

like,

29:49

Speaker B

Really? You've seen me?

29:50

Speaker C

he is a creeper.

29:51

Speaker A

Yeah.

29:51

Speaker B

That's awesome.

29:51

Speaker A

He is a

29:52

Speaker B

That's

29:52

Speaker A

total creeper.

29:52

Speaker B

really weird.

29:53

Speaker C

No, I've talked to you when I've s I don't know how I knew that.

29:55

Speaker A

Yeah.

29:55

Speaker B

I don't know, but that's weird. But But it's Brett's Brett's known a lot of stuff about you that you didn't know either.

29:59

Speaker C

Yeah yeah. Well he's doing his job, I

30:01

Speaker A

That's

30:01

Speaker C

guess.

30:01

Speaker A

true.

30:01

Speaker C

I guess.

30:02

Speaker A

Me, I'm just a stalker.

30:03

Speaker B

Maybe that is your job.

30:03

Speaker C

No, but I knew you

30:04

Speaker B

Who are you from some I've seen you run. Uh I don't know

30:06

Speaker C

Maybe,

30:06

Speaker B

where.

30:06

Speaker C

maybe we

30:06

Speaker B

You

30:07

Speaker C

run.

30:07

Speaker B

ran by you came into the bar when you were after running or something maybe.

30:09

Speaker A

I don't know.

30:10

Speaker B

Alright. That's it.

30:12

Speaker C

Thanks for coming in.

30:12

Speaker B

Loved

30:13
